There is constantly in our life some kind of anxieties, we cope somehow or other with most of them, but it happens that we cannot cope with some. Then we say: "misfortune, disaster". And the fact that we can either do nothing, or nobody else to help us, we fall in despair. There are various means to express this despair, in ancient Israel people in sign of extreme tribulation rent garments on them. And that’s what the prophet Joel speaks about: "one should not rend garments, because there are no situations without outcome, if there is God ". Having understood that we face an impasse, it is necessary to immediately turn unto the One, Who is gracious and merciful, and He by His omniscience and omnipotence will find a solution. But there is one idea here again. But why we found ourselves in misfortune? Because we closed ourselves from God, hardened in our self, with which is covered with the crust of our hearts. And the prophet says: " rend your hearts", - that is destroy the fossil of your hearts, open yourselves to others, get out the prison of your "ego" for living relationships with God and people - and disaster will cease occurring to you. There will be the anxieties and sufferings, but they won’t be any more disasters. |
