Many years later, the word of the Lord is fulfilled: Caleb receives an inheritance in the very land he had first seen long ago as a scout. At that time the people were afraid to enter the land and once again rebelled against Moses. On that day Caleb chose the truth of God proclaimed to Moses, but this meant finding himself in the minority before the entire people.
Very often, special courage is required to uphold the truth against the will of the majority. Yet the one who went against “public opinion” proved victorious and saw the truth he had defended vindicated.
It is hard to “swim against the current” alone or with only a small number of like-minded people, but again and again the Bible tells of dramatic events in which only a few remained faithful to the truth...
