Main news for 28 January 2022

"This testimony" - it is God's testimony about His Son. It is by all appearances about the episode on Jesus’ baptism (Matt. 3:16-17), when the voice of God from heaven called Jesus beloved son. Let’s pay attention on the chain of testimonies passing on to us this message: the Father testifies concerning the Son, John the Baptist testifies about this to his followers, the followers testify this testimony to us through the Gospel. Testimony is the main means of transmission of the Good news, because with all its truth, in it there is no pressure (violence) on the listener.

This testimony is about what? "In whom I am well pleased", - That is the good will of the Father is manifested in the Son. Of what is thus this God's good will? Look at some passages: Ez.33:11, Matt. 18:14, Jn 3:16 - and you will see that God wants to deliver us from death and give us everlasting life. So, the will of the Father concerning everlasting life for people is manifested in Jesus Christ: the Son of Man, Who passing to resurrection through death, ascended to the Father and indwells eternally on the right hand of the Father. Consequently, our life can become eternal, if we unite with Christ, allow Him to fill us with His presence and life.
