Acts 12:23 speaks of the death of Herod, stating that he was eaten by worms. What does history say about this? Or perhaps history records the fact of Herod's bizarre death?

The authoritative historian Flavius Josephus reports approximately the same account concerning the death of Herod, which occurred in A.D. 44, as the Evangelist Luke. Flavius Josephus states that Herod died from severe abdominal pain. Luke, who according to tradition was a physician, points to the probable cause of these pains—some kind of parasitic worms.
