Dear friends!
Reading the Bible can raise many questions, and it is not always easy to find answers on your own. We publish answers to frequently asked questions, so the question you want to ask may already have been answered here.
What is "being"? The fact is that "being" is a philosophical concept. We, for example, were taught that being determines consciousness. But what does the Bible understand by the concept of "being"?
The Russian philosophical and theological term "being" is a translation of a concept originating in ancient Latin and Greek philosophy. Its precise meaning is "existence". The Bible, however, uses this word in a twofold manner. Within the text, the word "being" translates the corresponding concept; whereas the title of the first book—the "Book of Genesis"— is accurately translated as "Origin", and is not a Russian, but a Slavonic translation of the corresponding Hebrew term.
If you do not find an answer to your question in these materials - write us, we will try to look for answers together.
We would like you to keep in mind the fact that the number of questions far exceeds our capability to answer them fast. We apologize in advance for a possible delay. Thank you for understanding.
