Everything I have done in my life that has led to any negative consequences, I did of my own free will and choice. And it is also very difficult to understand at all where God's will is, and where mine is? Why, if God loves me, will I die? I do not want to, I like it here. Why did Hitler do so much evil, why did those he tormented suffer, or why did they suffer? And I am also sure that if God punished me for my sins, I would not exist anymore. Why, if God is good, does He allow so much evil, violence, and injustice?

Of course, man is responsible for his own actions. Strictly speaking, our responsibility and our freedom are two sides of the same coin. The world in which God has placed us stands on a simple principle: everything built on love for God and neighbor leads to life, everything else leads to death. And this is not a matter of metabolism. In Christianity, the presence of God (in "this" life or in "that" one) is life and paradise; His absence (in "this" life or in "that" one) is death and hell. To abolish death as the necessary consequence of sin would probably mean abolishing the most important foundation upon which the world stands. Imagine what would happen if, for example, the law of universal gravitation suddenly disappeared... Therefore, the Lord shared our death with us as the result of our sin, and gave us the opportunity to be with Him even in death, that is, to live in the resurrection of the dead. If one does not want to die, one must either accept the inevitability of death, or accept the means of salvation from it that Christ offers. There seem to be no other options... And as for punishing us... Why? Sin carries its punishment within itself, because it separates us from the only source of life – God. Nothing more can be added to this by any punishments. God, on the contrary, acts in order to save us. Yet with all this, each of us is precious to God, and He never violates our freedom (He apparently simply does not need unfree creatures in our place). That is why there is so much evil in the world, which we create (or more precisely, perpetrate). God's victory over evil and death is possible – but only with our participation.
