If John's baptism was a symbol of repentance, then why was Jesus baptized? For He was without sin?

In His Baptism, the Lord Jesus, who had no sin upon Himself, shared with us, who are sinners, our lot and the consequences of our sin. Furthermore, in the event of the Lord's Baptism, the world was given a revelation of the love of God, who gave His Son for the sake of our salvation.
