The Book of Life raises a multitude of questions. It is somewhat amusing. A mathematics textbook does not raise so many questions. Why??? Could GOD not have ensured that people would not make errors across the multitude of translations?
In truth, a mathematics textbook raises a multitude of questions. D. Hilbert writes about this in detail in his "Foundations of Mathematics"…
The Bible raises questions for us primarily because we do not sufficiently know God and history. To use your comparison, these questions are of the same sort as those that would arise for a first-grader reading Fikhtengolts's "Course of Differential and Integral Calculus"… The preservation of the text has nothing to do with it: no ancient, or even classical, text has been preserved quite like the Bible; the degree of preservation of its text fully deserves to be called a miracle.
As for whether God could have "ensured" it… He could have. But, firstly, it is vital that we understand what is written in the Bible, and this depends on the translation far less than one might think. And secondly, God can do all things. Yet there are certain things He does not desire to do. In particular, He does not wish to violate the freedom of human moral choice, because otherwise we would not be human beings, but robots. God desires human beings. It is for this very reason that He died for us upon the Cross…
