How can one resolve the following situation using the Bible in one or more ways...

It is impossible to “resolve” a situation “using the Bible” for the simple reason that the Bible was not given to resolve various life conflicts, but rather to open the way to God for us. However, with His help, any situation can be resolved — if we give Him the opportunity to act. Let us try to briefly describe the “technology”.

In order to give God the opportunity to resolve a given problem, the following is required:

1. Agree to let the situation be resolved according to His will:

a. This means that we give Him the right to intervene or not to intervene: His freedom is above all, and His ways are incomprehensible to us;

b. This means that His decision may differ from what we desire — and we must agree to this or, at least, attempt to do so.

2. Present the problematic situation to God:

a. This means that you need to “examine” yourself: have you done anything wrong in this situation that is incompatible with God's truth, for nothing unclean can endure the presence of God;

i. The presence or absence of sin can be determined by the commandments, or more simply — try to answer the question: have you caused harm to anyone, for this is what sin consists of;

ii. It is important to agree that God's intervention can lead to an “explosion”, because all sin burns away upon approaching God;

b. This means that you need to turn to God in prayer:

i. At the same time, you must remember that the goal of prayer can only be communion with God Himself, He Himself. Incidentally, quite often, when finding God in prayer, instead of receiving an answer to a question, we see that the question itself disappears...

ii. When we ask God for help, we must remember points 1a and 1b;

iii. There is no point in asking for a specific resolution. Our task is to present the problem, and regarding the solution, it is best to pray “Thy will be done”.

3. Try to understand what we ourselves can do (in accordance with God's will, which is expressed quite unambiguously in Holy Scripture). There is no point in shifting our responsibility onto God (see also point 2a);

4. Arm yourself with patience.

a. God has His own plans, and for the fullness of life, it is important not so much (and not only) to receive what is asked for, but rather to “fit” into these plans;

b. The resolution of our life problems usually depends not only on us and God, but also on other people, whose freedom and well-being God values infinitely. Incidentally, it is helpful here to check whether we expect a solution to our problems that might cause pain and suffering to others: if so, then it is time to ask for forgiveness...

5. Apply the means that make us more receptive to the action of the Holy Spirit:

a. This is prayer (not only about a specific problem, but generally any prayer), which must certainly include:

i. Joy in God (Christians call this praise);

ii. Gratitude for His blessings (we still need to learn to recognize them...);

iii. Repentance;

iv. Contemplation: this is a difficult but very important form of prayer. Contemplation — this is when we look at God and the works of His hands with awe, in reverent silence; initially, it is important to learn to be silent before God; most importantly, it is essential to look at Jesus, dying for us on the Cross and Resurrected;

v. Intercession: if we are indifferent to other people, we have little in common with God (for He loves them deeply) and we will be unable to accept His help;

b. This is helping other people. It is important for a person to practically realize their likeness to God. God gave His life for us on the Cross and calls us to follow this example daily.

c. This is the Church. God desired to be present in our world through those who love Him. In the Church, God reveals to us completely amazing and special gifts of His closeness. Different Christians may have slightly different views here, but this does not change the essence of the matter;

d. This is fasting: the experience of abstinence helps us learn to put God and other people first, rather than ourselves.

Here is briefly the “course of action” necessary for a difficult situation to be resolved according to God's will.
