The Bible says very little about the Apostle Thomas. Could you briefly recount his life, his deeds, and where he preached?

According to Church tradition, the Apostle Thomas was a Galilean fisherman; after Pentecost, like the other apostles, he preached in various countries. Ancient accounts bear witness to the preaching of the Apostle Thomas in Palestine, Mesopotamia, and further to the east. It is known that he preached in the Parthian Empire and reached India, where he founded a Christian community that has survived to our day, known as the "Saint Thomas Christians". According to tradition, the Apostle suffered martyrdom for his preaching in the city of Mylapore (in India); his relics were translated from India to Edessa at the end of the fourth century.
