NOTES for Psa 150
A person who admires something or someone often cannot find the words to express their feelings. They look around, fixing their gaze on everything they encounter, and repeat the same thing several times in order to convey to others what they feel, see and have experienced. Repeating it time after time, they become convinced that words are powerless to express what is happening. The ability to cast what one sees into words is a rare gift. What, then, can be said about a person’s attempt to speak of their adoration before God? Inexpressible in words, He is worthy of worship and admiration. And, looking at ordinary musical instruments, the psalmist tries to pass on to us his gift of praising the One who alone is worthy of praise.
