NOTES for Mar 6:53-56
As soon as Jesus and the apostles reached the land of Gennesaret, crowds of people in need of healing came streaming to Him. The apostles had grown accustomed to such miracles and were no longer surprised.
We are astonished by a miracle when it exceeds our understanding of the world around us or of the one who performs it. Perhaps we know little of God if His actions surprise us, or if we respond to His works by asking, "How did He do that?" For everything God does is wonderful.
