NOTES for Деян 25:19
If you read the entire fragment from the book of the Acts of Apostles, then you will find in verse 19 the words of a pagan Roman official. This is how he perceives the situation about Apostle Paul’s arrest. And this is very typical for " the politician machine": astounding events happen near him; if we take them seriously, all the philosophy of life can change; he doesn’t take time to investigate thoroughly, he has more important things to do - it is good to give account to the authority, " to preserve his reputation " in front of subordinates and so show his competency and indispensability. Certainly, every person " of this world " has a right to such position, but the task of the Christians – make a way to such people with the Gospel, make a way, witnessing about the resurrection of Christ by word and life, because this is exactly what God recommended to His Church.
