NOTES for MarĀ 4:26-34

When speaking of the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus always resorted to parables that do not describe the details but merely create an image on which we can reflect in order to grasp what matters most. Gradually, the tiny seed sown in the earth and invisibly transformed into a green shoot becomes a mature plant.

The Kingdom of God proves to be something small and inconspicuous, something hidden in the very depths of our heart. We usually do not even notice it amid our daily concerns. But it gains strength within us and, at a certain moment, can bear genuine divine fruit. This process, unnoticed by those around us, takes place in every person. We can therefore never say that one person is holier while another is far from the Kingdom of Heaven.
