NOTES for Luk 1:26-56
For many centuries, through the law and the prophets, God prepared His people for the central event of history. And the chief fruit of this formation proved to be a simple Virgin from Galilee who was able to answer the Angel with the most important words in the world. She, the Virgin who bore the Son of the Most High in her womb, teaches us too to become participants in His Kingdom. Her prayer can also teach us much—for example, how to combine complete humility and obedience to God with joyful exultation in Him.
