NOTES for Isa 25:1-27:13

Isaiah’s Apocalypse is not an account of coming disasters, but a vision of the triumph of God’s Kingdom. Let us note some of the details of which the prophet speaks: victory over Israel’s enemies, the gathering of Israel from dispersion, the Lord’s banquet for all nations on Mount Zion, the opening of the paths of personal righteousness, victory over death and the resurrection of the dead, the defeat of the serpent, and joy and gladness in God’s salvation. Why was this written? Perhaps we are called to share in this victory through our trust in the prophecy and our assent to God’s design.
