NOTES for Ис 1:10-17
How convenient it would be: sin—repent; then do it again, and again, many, many times... And each time afterward, come to God, light a candle—and everything is just fine. For some reason, He does not want us to build our relationship with Him that way. He says: “No. I do not accept this. I have no need of such feasts and such prayers. And not only do I not need them—they are abhorrent to Me.” And it becomes frightening—but is what we are doing not frightening? This is precisely what He is telling us about.
