NOTES for Pe1 4:10
Certain most important truths on Christian life, of which the understanding takes years, entered a single sentence.
We don’t always realize at once that the plenitude of the Christian life shows itself not in the satisfaction of our increasing needs (no matter - material or spiritual), but especially in the minister of others, in the help of the satisfaction of their needs.
After, a considerable amount of our time passes to find our way of ministry. We try various variants of what we saw to others, we are disappointed, we lose courage, until we discover what we had before our face, what Peter writes about: minister with the gift you have.
So we begin "to touch" everything around with this gift, forgetting that it is not ours, and that it was given, not for our self-realization, but for the ministry. And when we become aware that this gift comes from God, we begin to judge everybody from the point of view, do they have this gift or not. And only having committed a heap of damages and having lost several persons formerly relatives, that we come in humble recognition of the manifold grace of God and become capable of taking part in God's dispensation - the construction of the Church, the unique Body of Christ from original and dissimilar one to another "rocks".
