NOTES for Exo 36:1-38

The work of building and decorating the tabernacle proceeds according to a precisely defined plan. Down to the smallest detail, it is prescribed what to decorate, how to decorate it, what to use, what material to choose, and what dimensions to make it. The people weaving the curtains, the carvers, and the jewelers are all “wise of heart.” This wisdom does not always consist in understanding well or speaking eloquently and explaining why you act in one way or another. In relationships with God, wisdom of heart very often manifests itself in doing what God has told you to do directly and unambiguously. His instructions and requirements may seem to us like unjustified extravagance or strange pettiness. But wisdom of heart lies in the fact that He created this world and knows it in a way we will never be able to know it during our earthly lives. In many things, we must take Him at His word.
