NOTES for Mat 6:1-6

God never forces His mercy upon us. Even His coming into this world appears simply as the birth of an earthly Infant. If we are called to become like Him in His perfection (Mt 5:48), then our mercy and piety, too, should be neither ostentatious nor intrusive, but a joyful expression of our relationship with our heavenly Father, hidden in our hearts.
