NOTES for Num 20:1-29

Weak faith is often our main obstacle on the way to God. And perhaps it is not even a matter of simply being certain that God exists or that he will help us, but of the fact that God is holy and that, in order to believe in him and love him, we must resemble his holiness and strive to belong entirely to him, regardless of what others think. Moses, the greatest of the prophets, who spoke with God face to face, doubted at the decisive moment and was condemned. Who are we in comparison with Moses? We have only one advantage: we have been given the law of the Spirit in Christ, the love that is greater than the law.
