NOTES for Sir 48:1-4

"Blessed are those who saw you and were adorned with love"... Jesus son of Sirach says this about Elijah. It follows that this "adornment with love" is somehow connected with communion with the prophet. Perhaps it is so with all the saints: everyone who comes into contact with them, provided of course that they come with an open heart, is themselves lit a little by the reflection of their love. A saint adorns those who come to him with his love and thereby leads them to God...
