NOTES for Mar 2:27-28

The commandment about the Sabbath is given by God Himself in the laws of Moses; besides it is exactly its observance that is declared the sign of the alliance concluded between God and His people. Is it possible to call a man (the word-combination “son of man” without capital letters, which we don’t notice in the oral speech, means simply "man") lord of God's so important commandment? However, Jesus does! When is it possible? Not when this commandment is not being accomplished, but when it is fulfilled. The sense of this commandment is that, man should reserve one day of the week for God's things, it is a kind of “dime " that we give to God - not only money and fruits of his work, but time. Then it is clear that a man becomes lord of this commandment and not its slave when he gives more than a seventh of his life to God. For example, the Son of Man gave all His life. We see again that obviously for Jesus to serve God is not a "calendar" problem, but a problem of constancy, how often we do that? He is free from the bondage of this commandment, because every day is Saturday for Him - day reserved for God.
