NOTES for Deu 5:24

There is a difference between knowledge and the experience. The proverb says: "seeing once is better than hearing hundred times". The doyens of Israel, by concluding the covenant with God, obtained the experience of meeting with Him, and His greatness, glory and voice are not just words for them, but doubtless reality, filling their life. The words "this day" are very important for us here; they join the time, in which we are with Eternity, in which God lives. It means that if we experience the meeting with God today, in which His glory and greatness are manifested to us, then this day will become a part of our eternal life.
