NOTES for Luk 2:21-52
Everyone knows that one day they will die. Death is a unique phenomenon: it is completely evident and completely hidden from those who have not yet experienced it. God speaks with a human being, and that person remains alive. On the basis of this Gospel passage, however, one can say that the person who speaks with God, not just in any way but face to face, acquires both life and death: life filled with His presence and with the light of revelation for all, and death as the fulfillment of the promise, as the possibility of a complete and final encounter.
