NOTES for Mal 4:5-6
The prophet Malachi says that Elijah will come, in order to turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers. And for a certain reason Elijah has to come for that... Indeed, it would seem, what can be more natural, than the love between the children and the parents? But each of us, if not in his own family, then it is in the families of friends, has certainly collided with the fact that to love relatives and natives is more difficult. It is particularly in the family that we make the cruelest wounds, indeed, relatives hurt much more, than the foreigner. And the Lord wants to heal these relations. It is necessary to get ready for the day of the Lord, and reconciliation in the family is one of the main things, that He expects from us.
