NOTES for Rev 18:1-24
The angel proclaims that Babylon’s final hour has come. A voice from heaven urges the faithful to leave the doomed city. We hear the weeping and lamentation of those who cherished Babylon, grew rich, and lived off the city’s lawlessness. The believers’ exodus recalls Lot’s departure from Sodom. Nothing can stop those who remain faithful to the Lamb. They leave, abandoning the city to its sorrowful but deserved fate. And no one looks back or regrets leaving the place that brought them suffering and pain.
