NOTES for Rev 20:1-15

The sea and Hades give up the dead. The sea, an ancient symbol of all forces hostile to humanity and a symbol of death, shows us that demonic powers no longer have dominion over human beings. The abysses of fear and darkness into which humanity had been plunged recede and sink into nonexistence. Those who were dead come to life, and the complete transformation of matter begins, when there is a place for everyone in the heavenly dwellings. There is a place for everyone, everyone is invited, and everyone awaits a warm welcome from the Creator of the universe. Now all creation returns to what the Creator intended, to its beautiful state unspoiled by sin, at the sight of which the Lord said, “It is very good.”
