NOTES for Exo 3:13-20

When God calls Moses to his ministry, He reveals to him an astonishing truth about Himself. God is the One Who exists; He is Existence itself; He is the God of Existence and therefore not a god of the earth, a god of water, a god of the sun, or a god of rain, but the God of all that exists. He is the One Who exists unconditionally and without limit, Who brings everything else into existence. Such a God is awe-inspiring and incomprehensible, yet it is He Who addresses Moses with a concrete commission concerning the deliverance of the people of Israel, and He Who will reveal the fullness of His love in Jesus Christ, Who will say, “I am gentle and humble in heart.”
