NOTES for Exo 15:1-27

If God is a servant, there is no reason to thank Him. But Moses and the people he leads see God as the Lord of all. They worship Him who created the world. Most importantly, they realize that God is free. He may not answer a prayer, or He may answer in a way a person does not want. He has His own answer to every question. And there is gratitude to God, who alone is God and whose Name is holy. Gratitude, praise, and joy are what distinguish the chosen people from the pagans who live beside them.
