NOTES for Num 31:1-54
During the holy war against the Midianites, Israel is under the Lord's protection. Its fruit is rich spoil and the miraculous preservation of the Israelite warriors. Several centuries later, the Apostle, too, will call us to fight the forces of evil. In this struggle, in which evil is overcome not by weapons but by good, the Lord helps us, protecting us and leading us to a glorious victory.
