NOTES for Deu 1:1-46
As Moses tells the new generation of the people about the forty-year journey from Egypt to the land of Canaan, he recalls the reason for such long wanderings—the scouts’ murmuring—and calls their sons not to resemble their fathers. We must all learn something from other people, but certain things—or people—must be avoided. When learning from someone, people tend to adopt both the bad and the good; this is why we so greatly need the gift of wisdom from God in order to find our way rightly through life.
