NOTES for Deu 3:1-29
By abiding in the Lord and in His word, the Israelites receive God’s help in battles against the Amorites and in conquering the land east of the Jordan. Although all the land of Palestine has been promised to Israel, this promise can be entered only by remaining faithful to His word. Even Moses, who spoke with God face to face but provoked Him to anger through his distrust, must die without ever crossing the Jordan. A living relationship with God always requires reciprocity from us, faithfulness and obedience to His will, which He reveals to us in His word.
