NOTES for Mat 7:1-8
Have we been wronged unfairly again? Well, the most worthy response is to quote today's Gospel to the offender: there is no point looking at someone else's specks when you have a beam in each of your own eyes! But if, as the Apostle says, all have sinned and all believers are justified freely, is it worth deepening resentment and hostility? Would it not be better to receive from Christ the word of reconciliation and become a servant of His peace? And to begin with, simply do not judge.
