NOTES for Luk 9:62

There are several places in the Bible where people “look back", for example: the woman of Lot, the Israeli during the Exodus. We look for ideal in the past, not realizing that the Kingdom of God is always in the present and future. Lets emit this idea conceived from the book of a contemporary author (Richard Rohr "The Great Themes of the Scriptures: The New Testament "): "Good news always indicates the future, a certain new place, the promised land. It never turns to the past. But the irony of the Christian history is in our habit to turn to the past and say: "There were miracles before. God was really a God before; it is then, when the great prophets still lived. It is in the Middle Ages that there were great saints …” By this irony, God's word has been converted from a liberating power into protecting power. We began to be engaged in religious gym and lost contact with the Power of God’s word”.
