When a person touches eternity and encounters God, he faces a choice: to trust the Unknown or to turn away. To every argument Moses offers for being unable to carry out the mission entrusted to him—that he is a fugitive and a criminal, that he has a speech impediment, and finally that he knows far too little about his new God—the Voice gives him only one answer: “I will be with you.” This is very little and very much. Little, because these are only words—or rather, a promise that one may or may not believe. Much, because if a person believes it, an extraordinary path opens before him.
