NOTES for LevĀ 9:1-24
Without chapters like these, the book of Leviticus can look like a dry and dull set of regulations, carefully describing how and what must be done, while leaving it completely unclear why. Today, however, it becomes clear to us that all the rites, all the sacrifices, and all the purifications are only preparation for the most important thing: the manifestation of God's Glory among people. In our spiritual life it is extremely important to distinguish the means, such as reading the Bible, prayer, fasting, education, formation, and the like, from the goal itself: the encounter with God, with His Glory, which has already dwelt among us for two thousand years.
