NOTES for Lev 13:29-59
As we see, the priests' duties include, among other things, recognizing skin diseases. In fact the Old Testament priest, as a kind of mediator between God and people, also carries out the divine function of healing. It is obvious from the text that this ministry still has a character very far from perfection: the priests do not heal, but only establish quarantine when necessary. In its fullness this gift will be revealed when Christ the High Priest comes to earth and passes His healing authority to His Church, and we, as its members, can also be somehow involved in this gift.
