NOTES for Ин 1:45-51
Imagine a scene: today, someone has undergone conversion and come to believe in Christ. Full of joy, he hurries to a friend to tell him that he has found what can solve all their problems. His friend naturally expresses disbelief. The new convert then says... and the scene stops there, like a freeze-frame.
But what can he say? Like Philip, “Come and see”? Where should his friend go, and what should he see? Where and how can today's Nathanael encounter Christ? Can we, the Church, the Body of Christ, reveal Christ in such a way that he will exclaim, “You are the Son of God!”? After all, he must not only see Christ in us, but, beyond that, heaven opened.
