NOTES for 1 Кор 4:1-5

In today’s reading, the apostle Paul speaks to us about faithfulness. Why is it so important specifically in the context of stewardship of God’s mysteries? Because we are not merely “doing something for God.” No, serving Christ and building up the Church are our very life.

The Church is built of us as of living stones. If a stone first takes its place in the wall, then falls out, then returns again, the building will collapse. The life of every Christian is the life of the Church. If we are unfaithful, we do not simply cease to build up the Church; we begin to destroy it.
