NOTES for Gal 3:22-29

God revealed to the apostle Paul His astonishing plan to adopt the sons of men, and Paul shares it with us. The plan is truly wondrous, for only the miracle of God's love and mercy can clothe each of us with Christ and thereby make those baptized through faith sons and daughters of God (see Gal 3:26–27). And thus, having become Christ's, we become “Abraham's offspring” — heirs, God's people in the Old Testament understanding of the term.

We will never be able to comprehend this logic fully, if only because we do not have as much love as God does. Yet this is precisely why we are clothed with Christ in baptism: so that He Himself may be this love within us.
