In the Old Testament, there is indeed a prohibition against consuming blood as food. It was first included as a fundamental condition of God's covenant with Noah, and is subsequently confirmed in the Mosaic law. These same conditions of the Noahic covenant are repeated by the apostles in chapter 15 of Acts as binding upon Christians of Gentile origin. This prohibition has a twofold nature. On the one hand, it serves to protect people from certain manifestations of paganism (and at the same time, from primitive savagery). On the other hand, it serves to prepare us for the imperishable food of the New Covenant – the Body and Blood of Christ. This applies to both the Old Testament and New Testament prohibitions. Note that the apostles do not simply forbid the consumption of blood as food, but urge to "abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, and whatever you do not want done to yourselves, do not do to others," emphasizing specifically the danger of paganism and direct sin.

In general, the New Testament fundamentally rejects dietary restrictions as a ritual phenomenon, based on the words of Christ: "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man" (Matt. 15:11). This is repeatedly confirmed by the epistles of the apostles, primarily those of the apostle Paul.

It seems to us that there is nothing reprehensible in the use of blood preparations: a) it does not constitute participation in a pagan sacrifice, and b) it is not a manifestation of savage violence against a living creature (preparations are made from donor blood or from the blood of animals designated for slaughter in one way or another).
