3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

This is one of the most frequent human illusions: that condemning sin in other people makes us righteous ourselves. After all, we oppose sin and even fight it. And Scripture says: "Expose" (Eph. 5:11).
It is so convenient to "overlook" that first it says there: "Do not take part in the works of darkness." It is so easy to forget everything said by the Savior, who left the right of judgment only to Himself (Matt. 7:1-5, John 8:7). Our soul's occupation with rooting out other people's sins "protects" us from the labor of our own repentance and gives us a feeling of participation in a good, divine work, the salvation of humanity.
