NOTES for Act 11:21-26

“The Lord reigns!” Today the psalm’s prophecy has been fulfilled, and the Apostles go out to preach, proclaiming the approach of His Kingdom. What does this Kingdom consist of? Scripture answers with an example from the life of the early Church: it is life in grace and faith, discipleship under Christ, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the ability to understand and answer His call. And, of course, complete hope in God, in His love and care. Thus the Apostles, taking neither money nor spare clothing with them, bring peace into people’s homes. Are we ready to follow their example? If so, then let us set out.
