NOTES for Wis 11:22-12:2
The man who wrote the Book of Wisdom was a great prophet. Around him he saw not only a beautiful world, but also a world of sickness, war and death. Like us, he knew that little of value grows in our world from hatred and malice, yet they do not become any less common. Nevertheless, he wrote: “You love all things that exist and abhor nothing that You have made, for You would not have made anything if You had hated it.” He had a presentiment, and we now know, that God is so far from abhorring what He created that He became man and died in order to save creation from death.
