NOTES for Luk 14:25-33

Knowing the will of God requires the gift of wisdom, but it also requires our effort in using that gift. The Holy Spirit sent down to us enables us to determine the cost and calculate our strength, but we must do this ourselves. At the same time, Jesus also points to the right conclusion of such a calculation: we have exactly enough strength to renounce everything, take up the cross, and follow Him.
