NOTES for Иер 6:1-30

All the trials that befell Israel and all the labors of the prophets proved fruitless—“the wicked were not separated.” Jerusalem remains a center of lawlessness, and disaster must therefore befall it. We must remember that our own heart also remains free and capable of failing to respond to God’s call to repentance. We therefore need to watch ourselves very carefully, so that we do not take faith in the Son of the living God lightly and, like the Israelites of old, proclaim peace where there is none.
