NOTES for Dan 12:5-13

Through the prophet we are given a picture of what will happen at the end of time. As in other chapters of the book, the prophecy does not specify exactly when the end of the world will come, because the periods of time are presented symbolically. But there is no doubt that the world is finite and that all people will stand before the Lord. As in the New Testament, we are told that this will be preceded by many terrible events during which evil will triumph, and believers must remain steadfast, wise, and courageous. Just as we do not know the times and seasons when all this will happen, so the prophet is not given an answer to the question, “What will happen after that?”
