12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

These words written by Apostle Paul for a concrete reason (concerning the discussion about food offered unto idols), turn out nevertheless, useful for guidance and in other cases. The apostle brings out categorically our reflections from the sphere of legalism (" possible - impossible") to the sphere of the sense ("why", "necessary or not necessary ", "rational or irrational"). Such an approach corresponds to the Christian’s freedom of man, opens him the way of creativity, without denying his responsibility before God. Besides, this approach is fruitful: it is indeed impossible to register all the potential situations of the human life on the level of "possible - impossible ". But the approach of Apostle Paul can "function" in any situation, because we can always think: will what I am going to do approach me to the goal God gave me or not. Will it not be that I "became servant" to it (such is the literal sense of the Greek word translated as "under the power"), - indeed, man can become servant of God only.
