NOTES for Isa 41:13

13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Hide

How pleasant it is to read these words. Certainly, this is how you see it: a big and good God, as a dad, holds my hand and says... But how's that – holds my hand? Does God have the hand? Indeed God is not as a man, He is invisible and inconceivable, and one can’t feel Him: God is Spirit, as the evangelist John shows it. It is thus such an image. But to whom then are these words addressed? Indeed, the "right hand" can also be an image. Probably, such is the case; because the entire context is that God here through the prophet Isaiah addresses His people. But what is the "right hand" for all the people? Or who is? Apparently, it is the one who governs, the king. Well then these words mean that God promises His real King, the One, Who will always be with Him hand in hand. It is a prediction about the Messiah.

We know that this prediction is fulfilled, and the King, the Son of Man came, did everything according to God's will, rose to the Father and stayed with us at the same time. And it means that near to us is the One, Who has the hand, with which He can hold each of us by hand.
